Atrocitus, a prominent figure in the DC Universe, is the leader of the Red Lantern Corps. His rage and hatred fuel his power, making him a formidable force.
Originally named Atros, he was one of the five survivors of Sector 666's massacre by the Manhunters. This horrific event ignited an unquenchable rage within him, leading him down a path of vengeance. He was born on the planet Ryut.
Atrocitus first appeared in Green Lantern vol. 4 #25 (July 2007). His desire for retribution against the Guardians of the Universe, who he deemed responsible for the Manhunters' actions, drove him to forge the Red Lantern power battery and create the Red Lantern Corps.
As a Red Lantern, Atrocitus wields the power of red rage, manifested as corrosive plasma. His primary objective is to inflict his wrath upon those he deems guilty, particularly the Guardians and anyone he perceives as an oppressor. He wears a red ring and his signature power is a red, fiery, plasma based vomit which burns anyone it touches.
